Measure of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University No. 14/2020 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR COMPENSATORY SUPPORT OF ERASMUS+ MOBILITY In accordance with § 28 (1) of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Modification and Amendment of Other Acts (Higher Education Act), as later amended (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”), I issue the following Measure: Section 1 Specification of the scholarship programme The scholarship programme for compensatory support of Erasmus+ mobility (hereinafter referred to as the “scholarship programme”) is announced by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as the “FF MU”) in accordance with the provisions of Section 3 subsection 1 clause b) of the Masaryk University Scholarship and Bursary Regulations. Section 2 Purpose and duration of the scholarship programme (1) The purpose of the scholarship programme is to support Erasmus+ mobility to selected European countries with particularly high living costs. (2) The scholarship programme is hereby announced for an indefinite period from the entry into effect of this measure. Section 3 Source of funding for the scholarship programme (1) The source of funding for scholarships is the faculty’s Scholarship Fund. (2) The amount of CZK 100,000 for one academic year is reserved for the programme. Section 4 Conditions for awarding the scholarship (1) The scholarship is intended for students of Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral degree programmes at the FF MU. (2) The student must be admitted to and start the Erasmus+ study period by the prescribed deadline. The learning agreement for the internship (signed at least by the student and the coordinator for the FF MU) must be entered into the MU IS records. (3) The target countries for which a compensation scholarship can be obtained are specified in Section 4 of the Directive. For study periods in other target countries, no compensation scholarship is awarded. Section 4 Amount of the scholarship (1) The amount of the scholarship is differentiated by dividing the target countries into groups and has the following maximum sums: Group 1: Iceland, Norway, UK Amount of compensation: maximum CZK 1,700 per month. Group 2: Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland Amount of compensation: maximum CZK 1,200 per month. (2) The scholarship is paid in Czech crowns. Compensation for incomplete months of the scholarship is reduced proportionally. Section 5 Collecting applications, awarding and payment of scholarships (1) The application deadline for the autumn semester is 15 September, and the deadline for the spring semester is 15 March. (2) The student submits a duly completed application to the faculty’s office for studies. Incomplete or incorrectly completed applications will be automatically eliminated from processing as ineligible for a scholarship. An application is also considered to be incomplete where a learning agreement for an internship has not been entered into the MU IS records by the relevant deadline date. (3) The complete application must include at least: the student’s name and surname, student ID number, country of destination, name of the partner university, date of the start of the study period, date of the expected return, and the student’s signature (the application form is attached to this measure). (4) The award of the scholarship and its final amount is decided by the Vice Dean for International Relations on behalf of the Dean. (5) In the event of excess demand, the compensation is reduced. The procedure for reducing compensation is always done by group: from group 2 to group 1. The principle is that the grant (per country) within a group is the same for all successful applicants. (6) Scholarships are no longer awarded after the semester’s allotted resources have been exhausted. (7) The student is notified of the scholarship award by an electronic decision in the IS MU Document Office. (8) After the decision comes into legal force, payment of the scholarship is made in one lump sum to the bank account specified by the student in the IS MU. Section 6 Final provisions (1) This Measure repeals the FF MU Directive No. 1/2018 Scholarship Programme for the Compensatory Support of Erasmus+ Mobility of 1 June 2018, effective from 1 June 2018. (2) This Measure builds on the Masaryk University Scholarship and Bursary Regulations. (3) I authorize the Vice-Dean for International Relations of FF MU to interpret the individual provisions hereof, to implement and update them. (4) The FF MU Faculty Bursar checks the use of funds for scholarship purposes. (5) This Measure shall enter into force on the date of signature.
