Description How can Theatre be used for personal and community development? Which techniques, insights and aspects are to be taken in consideration when planning a personal/social intervention using social theatre methodologies? Which kind of exercises and drama activities are more appropriate in order to understand personal and social reality, and to consciously change them? How can Theatre represent a conscious intervention, a rehearsal for social action, rooted in a collective analysis of shared problems? This workshop will try to give an answer to these questions, creating a dialogue between two well established Social Theatre methodologies: Playback Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed. The two facilitators, together with the participants, will explore the possibilities and challenges offered by the two tools and their possible dialogue. Participants will receive an insight of good practices, concrete experiences and strategies when working with different communities and target groups.
