| Description | The paper was written in connection with the work on a derivational valency dictionary of German and Czech, which captures valency carriers of different categories (‘parts of speech’). Using the entry for ABFALLEN as an example, different criteria for determining central and peripheral acceptions are discussed. Special attention is paid to the special demands of a derivational approach to valency and to the linguistic peculiarities to be expected at the periphery of lexical entries. |
