Description	According to many authors, the identity of social work is somewhat unclear. This lack of clarity can cause a number of problems, such as the illegibility of social work for the entities social workers deal with. As a result, this may lead to complications in the access of social workers to the resources needed to support social inclusion of clients. The aim of this paper is to contribute to clarify the connection between social work identity and barriers to social inclusion using selected examples from the qualitative part of research of values, dilemmas and difficult situations that social workers encounter in their work. Based on the presented findings, recommendations for education in social work are proposed at the end.
