Description The contribution focuses on the practical use of reading workshops as an effective system of work that promotes literacy among pupils in literary education classes at lower secondary school. Reading workshops offer a suitable way to improve not only reading literacy but also to stimulate pupils' interest in reading and deepen their relationship with literature. The paper presented specific activities and practices used in practice that help to actively engage pupils in reading, discussion and interpretation of texts. Emphasis was placed on practical experiences in conducting reading workshops, reading lessons or in creating reading records.
