Sustainability of faculty operations is an increasing priority

Dear co-workers,
Masaryk University has recently been intensifying its work on its sustainable development strategy. The Faculty of Arts MU is not lagging; on the contrary, it is actively entering the negotiations with its long and rich experience supported by the steps already taken in operating its campuses and buildings. We can mention, for example, waste sorting, including composting, successful efforts to reduce energy consumption and other activities within the framework of the HR Award.
But of course, there is still plenty of room for improvement! That is why we would like to invite you to the Sustainable Breakfast, which will take place on Friday, 14 June 2024, at 7:30 AM. in the MU Faculty of Arts Central Library. Here, we would like to clarify the proposed goals and get further suggestions from the faculty. Why in the library? Perhaps because the central faculty coordinator of the project is Jiří Žgánič Šprdlík. I am glad we are not establishing a new function but giving an official face to what we are already doing. You can send any suggestions to Jiri now (or anytime later) at udrzitelnost@phil.muni.cz.
I thank everyone in advance, and I believe that thanks to this project, we will make the environment around us a bit more sustainable again. It may be a slight drop in the ocean of the world's unsustainability, but still...
