Dear colleagues,
We are at the beginning of the fourth week of the autumn semester, and many traditional and non-traditional events have already occurred at our faculty. We have welcomed new students in the new format of Orientation Week, participated in the European Week for Sustainable Development, celebrated the beginning of the semester together with students at this year's somewhat noisier SemesterStart, introduced our study offer to the first applicants at the Open Day, revealed the secrets of our disciplines to the general public at the Night of Scientists, and organised many other educational, professional, cultural and artistic events. I thank everyone who participates in these events and gives their energy and time.
Ahead of us is Humanities Week this year, under the umbrella theme of Near the Baroque, which will end in parallels to the so-called Reading Week. Although there will be no traditional classes during the week of 13 November, there will be space for special lectures and seminars, disciplinary and (inter)disciplinary meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and intensive readings, in short, for everything that does not fit into the rhythm of regular classes. As I continuously monitor the system for booking classrooms for special events, the plans are varied, and we have much to look forward to. So I look forward to seeing you all together, for example, at the Humanities Week celebrations.
On behalf of the Faculty of Arts MU management, I wish you all good luck, peace and good sense in the new semester.
