Course of life, studies, professions and memberships in professional and academic institutions:
Born Juny 16, 1949 in Brno. He studied Philosophy and Czech at Masaryk University in Brno (state final examination 1973). After his graduate studies at Masaryk University he was teacher of Philosophy and Czech at high school in Brno (1974-1975). Researcher at the Institute for Research of Social Consciousness of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciencess (1975-1988). Since 1988 senior lecturer, since docent at the Departement of Philosophy (Faculty of Arts in Masaryk University, since 1996 vice-dean Faculty of Arts in Masaryk University in Brno. Since 1993 editor of the journal Sborník prací FF MU, B. He reads lectures especially in the branch of the History of Czech Philosophy, History of Russian Philosophy and also leads seminars in German classical Idealism and Social Philosophy. Tutor of the post-graduate students in philosophy.

Author of studies and articles about history of Czech philosophy and social philosophy in periodicals, memorial volumes. One of the authors of the book published in USA: Czech Philosophy in the Xxth Century (ed. by L. Nový, J. Gabriel, J. Hroch). Paideia Publishers and The Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, Washington, D.C., 1994.
