Popis | The endoneurium and perineurium of femoral nerve displayed immunofluorescence for laminin-1, -2, and -3 isoforms. A granular immunostaining was observed in the endoneurium and perineurium when antibodies against a1 and b2 laminin chains were used. Immunostaining for b3 and g2 laminin chains revealed distinct fluorescence in the Schwann cells, while the perineurium expressed predominantly punctate immunofluorescence. The inner core of Pacinian corpuscles derived from specialized Schwann cells displayed immunofluorescence staining for laminin-1, -2, and -3 as well as for individual laminin chains (a1, b2, b3, g2). In addition, antibodies against a1 and b2 laminin chains provided a weak fluorescence in the axon terminals and superficial layers of the capsule. The results indicate that Schwann cells and their derived structures exhibit not only laminin-1, -2, -3 isoforms but also laminin-5 suggested from immunohistochemical identification of g2 chain. |
