We are delighted that you have just started reading the first faculty newsletter of 2022. We would like to start by extending our warmest greetings and wishing you all the best in the New Year!
Exactly one year ago at this point, we looked back at the transformations in faculty communication necessitated by the pandemic situation. It resulted in unprecedented online traffic that gave rise, among other things, to this regular newsletter. Even these days, the topic of faculty communication transformations is still relevant, but this time it is the activities related to the HR Award we received last year that are behind them. One of the main goals of this project is to create a friendly environment for top foreign researchers and international research teams at the faculty. For this, it is essential that a bilingual information system is in place and that all relevant information reaches the faculty in English. Bilingualism is therefore increasingly permeating internal faculty communication: faculty regulations have been translated, minutes of management and Dean's Board meetings, mass e-mails from the Dean's Office have been translated into English for some time, and our faculty newsletter is also published in two languages.
We believe that these changes will contribute to the greater involvement of not only foreign researchers but also students in faculty life and to the emergence of universitas in the true sense of the word.

Apart from the students of the Faculty, high school students were also involved and many of them approached the assignment very creatively. You can judge for yourself.
Students from the Mission of Hope association delivered Christmas cards to 14 homes for the elderly in Brno. We thank them and all of you who participated in the project!
The first and possible second round of elections will occur at the Academic Senate meeting on January 10, 2022, at 3:00 PM. Physically present in room B2.13 will be the candidate teams, senators, dean, and rector. Others will be able to participate online via MS Teams. A possible third round of voting will then take place a week later. You can still discuss with both candidates and their teams in IS. Feel free to contact your senators as well. They are here to represent your voice in the election as well.
You can get inspiration for suitable tools and methods from a website dedicated especially to online learning. The e-learning office also offers individual consultations.
You can apply for e-courses, plans for innovative use of technology in teaching and other projects. The support is intended to reward participating students.
Topics such as the flipped classroom, non-violent communication, and preventing student failure are on offer. The workshop in English will focus on the topic of testing.
This has been happening more and more recently, but the use of English is now also stipulated by faculty guidelines. We have thus fulfilled the next step of the HR Award Action Plan.
A special meeting of the MU FA Academic Senate will be held for the first and possibly the second round of the election of the MU FA Dean for the 2022-2026 term of office. Join at 3:00 PM online.
