The problematic relationship of comitia tributa and concilium plebis

| Popis | Even until now, the discussion between scholars dealing with the topic of constitution of ancient Roman republic, referring to the interrelationship between comitia tributa and concilium plebis is not finished. This discussion did not come to widely accepted conclusion, on the contrary it resulted in a split into scholar groups which maintain their own position or avoid direct analyses of this issue. My contribution can be divided into two parts. In the first part I give an overview of the above mentioned discussion. In order to simplify the situation I divided opinions of individuals researchers into several groups - theories, which I describe in greater detail and give their supporters or possibly their opponents. In the second part I present my own view which came out from the opinions of authors mentioned in the first part of my contribution, as well as from ancient authors‘ works. |
