Popis | This article describe, in Constantinople, a new development in the cult of holy bodies. The situation of the Silivri-Kapi mausoleum - arranged with a raised sarcophagus, with a fenestella confessionis and a opening for flowing oils - points towards a funeral cult which would have been more intimate and local than that of the big martyria. What appeared at first to be a family tomb thus finally turns out to have had a public function. |
