| Popis | In this paper, we apply a linguistic relativism in its so called weak form on the prose of Jáchym Topol, especially on the phenomenon of old and new speech as it occurs in a novel Sister. Characterization of the mentioned terms and an illustration of the language and speech impact on the perception of reality in Topol's work is evidenced by specific examples. Next, we deal with the role of proper nouns and we emphasise the function of eclecticism and irony as creative principles fundamental not only to Sister, but to Topol's entire writing. |
