Popis | Chapter 74 of Life – a user’s manual by Georges Perec, entitled "Lift machinery 2", constitutes a hermeneutical break in the book, as its looks like a dream: in that way, it reveals more than we may first think about the building itself. This text is set beyond the only plan of writing constraints and we weigh up three main reading keys: Dante's Inferno, Calvino's Invisible cities, and the Holocaust. Finally, a conclusive reasoning mitigates the relevance of analysis by the formal constraints and along these three reading options. We thus try to show that this chapter may be seen as one the conditions of the existence of the building. |
