Citace
Popis An extensive progress in nanotechnology led to development of variety of nanoparticles capable of specific interactions with biological structures even in living organisms. Structure and chemical properties of nanoparticles can be tailored to fit desired tasks, ranging from drug delivery to cell tracking or histopathological studies. Classical histological staining techniques of tissue sections can be complemented by information brought by specific deposition of nanoparticles in tissues and their direct visualization. Moreover, nanoparticles can enhance outputs of bioanalytical techniques, such as mass spectrometry, providing an insight to the tissue composition in a topological context. Nanoparticles applied in tissue visualization therefore contribute to composing of a complex image that broadens frontiers of current diagnostics and tissue-oriented research.
