Citace
Popis Colorectal carcinoma is the third most common cancer in the world. c-Myb is transcription factor and its overexpression in colorectal cancer (CRC) is known to be a prognostic indicator for poor survival of patients. The aim of this study is to decipher signaling events underpinning the c-Myb-induced chemoresistance of CRC cells. We showed that c-Myb is significantly involved in pro-survival signaling pathways. We described a novel c-Myb-p38?/JNK signal axis mediating increased resistance of CRC cells to cytotoxic agents and documented for the first time that the prosurvival role of c-Myb is associated with deregulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Moreover, we found positive correlation between levels of c-Myb, ROS and pAMPK kinase in CRC cells and we open new question on the role of c-Myb in metabolic precesses of CRC cells.
