Popis	Based on two essays written in German by Jiří Gruša - Beneš as an Austrian (2012) and The Instruction Manual for the Czech Republic and Prague (2003) - the paper shows how the concepts of national history and national literature can be taken to their limits: By means of multiplying, ironic quoting and compressing, national self-assertions are distorted, and narratives of group identities are exposed.
