| Popis | The monograph is a unique, complex work that follows the long-term effort of the authors in studying the development of the Slovak population. Its uniqueness lies, for one thing, in the effort to provide a developmental picture of the population of Slovakia during such a long and uninterrupted period of time, for which no work has yet been published. In addition, the processing of a myriad of basic demographic data is a significant societal benefit as is, in particular, the application of several new analytical approaches to the research of the transformation of particular demographic processes as well as selected population structures. Combined with the view of some wider conditions of population development, it is a valuable and socially unique work of interdisciplinary significance. |
