| Popis | The founding of the Thuringian-Saxon Antiquities Association falls into a time, when writers and artists discovered and romanticised their homeland, in contrast to the usual Grand Tour to Italy. The paper elaborates the question, when this development occurred first in the visual arts, and how this new found interest translated to new landscape paintings and other depictions of the Saxon regions, such as popular engravings or topographic maps. |
