Citace
Popis The goal of this presentation was (1) to inform the audience about human overpopulation and problems it causes, (2) to compare different approaches to the problem, i.e., restrictive and positive measures including One Child Ethics, and (3) to argue that a better approach than One Child Ethics should be discussed. One Fewer Child Ethics (i.e., having one fewer child than a couple wishes) is less coercive and helps to better balance the tension between couples’ autonomy and solidarity with yet-unborn humans (as well as with other species). In addition, this idea helps to balance the tension between the status of human rights as presently established with ethics that extend beyond the lifespan of each individual.
