| Popis | The Japanese Buddhist teacher Dogen (1200-1253), the founder of the Soto Zen school, is remembered mainly as a Buddhist teacher and master, but also as a thinker, writer and poet. He left behind a large number of texts that can be characterized as doctrinal, philosophical, but also poetic, often allegorical or metaphysical, full of references to koan collections or to the ideas of the original Chinese teachers and patriarchs. Through his texts and discourses, Dogen not only taught and lectured before the monks of his community, that is, not only transmitted Zen teaching and knowledge, but his texts also corresponded in form to the various literary genres of the Zen or Chan schools on the mainland. In my paper, I will present the different types and genres of Dogen's stories in a monastic context in order to better illustrate not only the content of the teachings that Dogen brought to Japan, but in this case especially their form. |
