Citace
Popis In this lecture I focused on the topic of international mobilities and their deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) participants. After introducing the matter and mentioning some universal and hearing-loss related obstacles DHH people face, I presented two case studies of two hard of hearing participants who were offered a chance to take part in a short-term mobility for DHH learners. The studies illustrated their different views on such events: from very welcome and exceptional in offering contact with people with similar life experiences to daunting and challenging, leading to difficult questions related particularly with one’s sense of belonging and identity. I concluded the lecture by drawing attention to two recent identity patterns associated with experiencing hearing loss and inclusion in hearing and deaf society, and crossing boundaries into both sides: DeaF and HearinG.
