Popis This article makes a cultural anthropological contribution to the significance of food as a Tibetan cultural asset in Switzerland with a focus on the so-called "Tibetan national dish" of momo, stuffed dumplings. Using cultural and historical concepts, the significance of momo in Tibet and in the diaspora is described based on historical travelogues, modern cookbooks and stories from the predominantly older generation of Tibetans living in Switzerland. The presence of Momo in the Swiss catering landscape and the reasons for its success story in Switzerland will also be discussed.
