| Popis | Biographies and historical chronicles about the incarnations of the Jebtsundamba lineage form an important part of the traditional historiography of Mongolia. The present paper provides an edition of a previously unknown six-page manuscript summary containing a brief history of fifteen incarnations of the Jebtsundamba lineage. The text in the manuscript is anonymous, undated and through the phrases and vocabulary used, it clearly refers to other known histories of successive reincarnations of Jebtsundamba before the appearance of Öndör Gegeen Zanabazar. In the paper, the edition of the manuscript is accompanied by simple quotations from related sources for comparative purposes (the history of the Jebtsundamba lineage by Zaya Pandita Luvsanprinlei, tsorj Agvaanluvsandondov’s biography of Luvsandambijantsan and the late Qing official histories of the Jebtsundamba lineage). |
