| Popis | In recent years, there has been a rediscovery and revision of the work of Soviet psychologist and pedagogist Lev S. Vygotsky (1896-1934). Studies on this author are shedding new light on the wider scope of his thought, together with the complex editorial situation that characterized his reception in the Western culture. Among the fields in which the author left some consideration, the criticism and psychology of aesthetic reaction – literary, in particular – seems to find a broader an articulated structure of his theory. However, the topic appears to be little studied. This presentation intends to illustrate the literary-aesthetic theory of Vygotsky, through the comment and interpretation of his main work: The Psychology of art (1925). Its semiotic and hermeneutic relevance will be shown and contextualized within the principal literary theories regarding the relation between emotion and cognition. The theory will be applied on a practical example: the poem of Niccolo Ugo Foscolo (1778-1827), A Zacinto (1803), in which the poet constructs a contradictory system of meaning throughout the metaphors and symbols of the ancient Greek literary tradition. |
