Citace
Popis The paper focuses on four Czech performances of Hamlet, which raised the most critical and audience attention: production by Jan Mikulášek (2009), by Daniela Špinar (2013), by Michal Dočekal (2021) and finally the most recent version by Jakub Čermák (2022). All the four performances could be considered as contemporary reinterpretations of classical text using (post)modern style approach. In all the cases it is more than obvious that for all the four directors Shakespeare is our contemporary. So I would put the question the other way round - what does “contemporary” mean here? How is reality reflected, constructed and performed in these performances? One of the testing points would be the character of Fortinbras who is mostly connected with political themes in the play. So the question is - if Fortinbras does not enter, could Hamlet still be performed as a political drama?
