| Popis | This chapter provides an overview of the historical background to the formation of the image of the periphery, how it was shaped by French intellectuals and how this image was imagined by intellectuals coming from the periphery to the centre. The focus is on writers and other political figures whose studies brought them to Paris - the cultural centre of Europe at the time - and who often settled permanently in France. |
