Popis In studies on the history of Spanish lexicography, Lara's (1997) postulates that dictionaries are, in the first place, lexical corpora that breathe the air of the times in which they were born have already taken firm root. They would therefore be promising sources of sociolinguistic studies, capable of accommodating all kinds of reflections of social relations between speakers at the time of their publication, the power and prestige between them expressed through the lexicon they used, linguistic attitudes, etc. Unfortunately, such studies are scarce (Langer and Nesse 2014) and those on Hispanic lexicography are no exception. Even more surprising is this bibliographical lacuna in research on the first academic dictionary, the so-called Diccionario de Autoridades (1726-1739), which has been analysed from various points of view, as can be seen in several bibliographical summaries of the metalexicography of Spanish, but its sociolinguistic projection, although mentioned in passing by Ruhstaller (2003), has not been sufficiently addressed to date. The aim of this paper is to begin to fill this knowledge gap, paying attention this time to the voices identified as belonging to boys, women and rural people. The aim is to cover some of the main sociolinguistic variables, that of age, sex and the rural/urban dichotomy, which together with our previous study on linguistic attitudes in DA1 (Buzek 2024) can offer us a panoramic view -although far from complete- of the sociolinguistic value of DA1 for a better knowledge of modern Spanish through the prism of the foundational repertoire of its lexical norm.
