Popis Generally, the technological development is influenced by two crucial factors: 1) the ability to master the necessary manufacturing techniques, and 2) the influence of demand or requirements for technological outcomes. In Etruria, the stable progress in production and demand fundamentally affected the socio-economic complexity of the country's economy. Primary sources on Etruscan production suggest a hierarchy in craft specialization, whose existence was subject to the emerging settlement hierarchy. The demand for pottery during the second half of the 7th century BC likely initiated the early nucleation of pottery workshops in key Etruscan centers. Changes in ceramic production can be characterized by the transformation in the perception of bucchero-type pottery manufacturing. The main objective of this contribution is to reflect on the political-economic background of Etruscan production, focusing on the causal factor of the need for technological changes and innovations in craft production, with an emphasis on bucchero-type pottery.
