Popis The intent of the present monograph was to verify through lexical comparisons, if the Uralic and Yukaghir protolanguages are really genetically related entities. This should be demonstrated through a relatively large number of suggested cognates, which display phonological regularities as if having developed from a common source. The main wordlist consists of 360 lexical comparisons of Yukaghir with Uralic, represented as cognates of at least two Uralic subbranches, while doubtful comparisons from previous studies were eliminated. On the basis of the present relatively rich lexical corpus, it was arranged the semantic index and attempted to establish phonetic correspondences between both the protolanguages. However, no Proto-Uralo-Yukaghir reconstructions are made or presented, as such are left out for future research to complete, but forms can be adduced from the materials given.
