Popis | In the public area of Khyargas Soum, a statue commemorating J. Batmankh, the last leader of the Mongolian People's Republic, stands prominently. Opposite this statue, in the courtyard of the Khyargas Soum Local Self-Government Organization, a seal statue featuring four emblems has been erected. This statue represents the insignias of the chieftains from the Bogd Khanate Mongol state: Bayadin Baatar Beis, Daichin Van, and Saruul Gung, along with the seal of the Governor's Office of Khyargas Soum, Uvs province, Mongolia. Locals refer to this monument as the "prince's seal statue" (tamganii hoshoo). These chieftains governed the region from the Qing dynasties to the Bogd Khanate period. When Bogd Khanate Mongolia was founded, these princes earned recognition and retained the right to govern their provinces for generations. The monument signifies that these historical leaders, who have governed since the Qing Dynasty, are regarded and respected similarly to contemporary Mongolian civil servants. Consequently, studying the biographies of these chieftains and their families is essential. This presentation will discuss the lineage and activities of the three chieftains while also highlighting the community's appreciation for these historical figures and the local memories associated with their contributions to significant historical events. |
