Popis In Germany, the distinction of immigrants was until recently seen as a crucial barrier for the political integration. It was revealed during the economical integration of the immigrants into the society but this situation was considered as a temporary one. It was supposed that the foreign workers would return to their native countries (Turkey, Yugoslavia) after certain time . Their civil, political and cultural integration was being rejected for a long time. Nobody assumed the present state that as the economical conjuncture ends the workers stay in their new „homeland“ and their families join them gradually. The government all along supported preservation of their culture to facilitate them returning home and to protect German cultural homogeneity. At present the Sunnit organizations such as Islamische Gemeinschaft Milli Gőrős (IGMG) play an important role. These are noted i.a. for their political ambitions. The problems of Turkish immigrants have been a part of the long-lasting discussion on the issues of realization of the ideal of multiculturalism. This discussion is in progress in other Western European countries (e.g. the Netherlands, Belgium or France) as well. In these countries the solutions to the problems between autochthonic population and generations of Moroccan/Algerian immigrants are being sought. These immigrants often regard Islam as the way of their self-identification. All the general conclusions flowing from the research on the experience of the integration gained up to now can conduce to affect possible future development.
