(Re-)Translating Zich's Aesthetics into English : a work in progress

| Popis | The article analyzes an unpublished 1980s translation of Zich's The Aesthetics of Dramatic Art by Samuel Kostomlatský and Ivo Osolsobě, compares it with a recent re-translation by Pavel Drábek and Tomáš Kačer (to be published in 2020), and identifies the most problematic points in translating concepts of theatre semiotic, which change the theoretical grounding in the course of time. |
