The main aim of MUNI Award in Science and Humanities (after this referred to as “MASH”) is to bring excellent and successful external researchers to Masaryk University and to offer them such conditions that they are motivated to stay and work for Masaryk University and to attain exceptionally high-quality research results on the long-term basis.
The call is open in two categories:
- MASH - which is for applicants who MU did not employ in their main employment for 5 years before the call's deadline. An applicant is an ERC grant holder or a leading researcher in the R4 career stage according to the European Framework for Research Careers (Has an international reputation based on research excellence in their field; Demonstrates critical judgment in the identification and execution of research activities; Makes a substantial contribution (breakthroughs) to their research field or spanning multiple areas; Develops a strategic vision on the future of the research field; Recognises the broader implications and applications of their research; Publishes and presents influential papers and books, serves on workshop and conference organizing committees and delivers invited talks).
- MASH StG/CoG - which is open to external applicants whose employment relationship with MU has not exceeded 12 of the last 36 months. It has not been more than 10 years since the applicant was awarded a Ph.D. (or equivalent).
Duration of solution and financial support:
- MASH - 5 years, annual allocation of EUR 5 million.
- MASH StG/CoG - 4 years, annual allocation of CZK 3 million.
Submitting proposal:
- The project proposal is submitted via ISEP Project Proposal Editor by selecting the template "MU Grant Agency: MASH - MUNI Award in Science and Humanities (09/09/2024 - 09/12/2024)" for the MASH category or "MU Grant Agency: MASH - MUNI StG/CoG (09/09/2024 - 09/12/2024)".
- Send the documents to the contact person at the OPP who, after checking them, will insert them into the established proposal in ISEP and start the approval of the project report.
- The proposal is considered submitted once the approval process is complete.
The proposal includes:
- The MASH form / The MASH StG/CoG form prescribed for competitions, includes: the applicant's current scientific CV, a description of the research project, a cover letter, and for MASH StG/CoG, a track record of scientific achievements
- A declaration by the HS of the applicant's readiness to be accepted and to create the conditions for independent research on the prescribed MASH / MASH StG/CoG form
- Optional Annex: ERC or other individual prestigious grant award decision / Final Evaluation Summary Report or evaluation of other individual grant
