Large Research Infrastructures generally enable their user communities to achieve breakthroughs in the fields of basic and applied research, as well as the development of advanced technologies that show high potential for application in innovative products and services with high added value.
In recent years, the Czech Republic has responded to the increasing importance of research infrastructures and, in recognition of their being a key component of the Czech Republic’s national research and innovation system, has taken several steps to help create an appropriate environment for their construction, operation, further investment development, financing, and integration into macro-regional structures.
On 1 November 2016, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports announced a call for the submission of documentation for the 1st interim evaluation of large research infrastructures approved for the provision of support from public funds based on the Government Resolution of the Czech Republic of 15 June 2015 No. 482, and the Government Resolution of the Czech Republic of 21 December 2015 No. 1066, as well as a call for the submission of proposals for new large research infrastructures.
