100th Anniversary of Brno English Studies - KAA Alumni Day

The event will open with an online symposium dedicated to the world-renowned linguist Prof. Jan Firbas on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The afternoon will continue with an online program including a short reflection on the "spirit" of the department, the presentation of four books associated with the department - the last two volumes of the Collected Works of Jan Firbas, a new edition of the iconic English or Czenglish handbook, and a book on the history of the department - and brief information on the centenary and what is happening in the department (alumni association, website on the history of the department, etc.).

The event is part of the celebration of the centenary of the beginning of teaching at the Faculty of Arts of MU.
