Through Lea Petříková's mysterious audiovisual work, we follow an intimate account of individual human experience. The statement elaborates on the issue of vision in general, which Lea has recently returned to, and opens deeper mystical questions related to the spirituality and perception of reality around us as such. It deals with the transmission and capture of the seen or invisible intimate experience, its incomprehensibility, and raises the disturbing question of whether we can really understand what is seen. Is the mythical "Palace of True Seeing" achievable?

Lea Petříková (* 1992) is a visual artist, filmmaker and also a theorist, working mainly with moving images. In 2016, she obtained a master's degree at the Center for Audiovisual Studies at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and in 2018 also at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Since 2017 she has been a doctoral student at FAMU. This autumn, she received the Josef Hlávka Award, awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional skills and creative thinking in their field. A year earlier, Lea received the Jacque Derrida Prize, a purely scientific award given by the French Embassy to talented scientists under 33. He has had several solo and a number of group exhibitions. She has presented her films both in the Czech Republic, for example at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, and at world festivals, such as the Athens Digital Arts Festival or the Alchemy Film and Moving Images Festival in Scotland.
