The project deals with a need of beautification and decoration as can seen in the attitude of human biological and sociological needs, and culture behavior. The phenomena and material evidence interpretation should lead to a categorization of all the given phenomena from a functional point of view which would be presented by a specific sign and symbol. Another output of the project should be a creation of structural medels. The contents of the structure and individual functions will be specified, and the evidence will be made using selected typical examples. The examples will include the phenomena and subjects of the magic and religious characters, the erotic role of beautification, decorations with practical usage, jewels representing a social position, degree or wealth, jewels connected with the life's progress and family status, and symbols representing an interest and point of view, or an affiliation to a political or religious group.
