The aim of the proposed project is the evaluation and synthesis of methodological approaches of the French school of structuralism (Rastier, Pottier, Zilberberg) in comparison with the Czech (Veltruský, Červenka, Daneš) and Lithuanian (Greimas, Nastopka) traditions of structuralism. The concern of this project is to develop new philological devices, allowing to regard the studies of language and studies of literature as two aspects of the same philological approach to the textual reality. The project is intended for 3 years and involves three steps: 1. evaluation of the French and Lithuanian structuralism traditions; 2. evaluation of Czech structuralism tradition; 3. synthesis. The main output will be three partial studies, related as the parts of one modern philological approach to the language and literature. The proposed project is related to the individual project of Tomáš Hoskovec- Back and forth from tongue to the language, implemented at the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University Prague.
