The goal of the submissed proposal is to obtain financial support for the continuation of work on the digitalization of the hymnological catalog "Melodiarium hymnologicum Bohemiae", which was begun in 1999 at the Department of Musicology of Masaryk University in Brno with financing from the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic (research program no. MSM 142100002). The result of the current of the current effort ist the creation of a functional calogization system based on a unigue principle has not heretofore been applied before in the field of hymnology, one which allows the researcher direct contact with the digital form of the study material. The catalog is accessible at the adress: www.firmadat.cz/melodiarium.The growing catalog database registers the repertory of Czech and Latin sacred songs in a size of approximately 700 melodies and 1 700 texts comming from manuscrips and main printed sources of the fifteenth and the first half of the sixteenth century. The three year support of the Czech Science Foundation would allow us to expand the current repertory of main printed sources and manuscripts to include to second half of the sixteenth century and the first half of the seventeen century.
