Libraries have considerable role in educating university students. Their services are provided in nowadays rapidly changing environment – new technologies have a notable impact on the information behavior and needs of students as well as on the education process itself. It is essential for university and specialized libraries to react to those changes and innovate their services. Design thinking is one of the key principles within the field of innovation management. Design thinking represents the set of processes and methods supporting the innovation of library services by including users into the research, designing and testing of those services.
The aim of this project is to map in detail both the design process and the methods suitable for university libraries and to describe the use of those methods within several case studies (especially from Czech Republic and Norway). It is expected to gain experience and good practices from the Norwegian university departments and libraries.

The project outputs:
Set of method cards for libraries (version 2.0 + mobile app)
Book about design thinking in libraries (EN and CZ version) - with case studies from Norway and Czech Republic
web pages on the topic.
