Dutch for Advanced Students

We are planning to develop an online language course for advanced students of Dutch in Open edX, using videos from the education platforms the University of the Netherlands and the University of Flanders. By doing so, we intend to fill a need for up-to-date language materials for the target group mentioned. The aim of the course is to improve the intelligibility of both Netherlandic and Belgian Dutch and enlarge the student’s vocabulary. Using a “flipped learning” approach within the existing subject “NI05_04 Vyjadřovací a komunikační dovednost III”, the online course is supposed to function as a basis for discussions and interactive exercises in real-time classes. The selection of interesting and lexically challenging videos is a time-consuming task in which the help of an assistant would be very useful. Moreover, the assistant could help subtitling the videos and preparing lexical material for the online course.
