The aim of the project is to map development of argumentative strategy in the Czech Reformation critique of Antichrist and to explore how this strategy successfully spread the belief that Antichrist had taken over the Church and the end of the world was approaching in medieval Bohemia across different social strata. The project will focus on Latin sources from the years 1411-1420 which are connected with the Prague University or with the transmission of apocalypticism to the common people. It will describe how the Reformation authors' work with so-called medieval authorities changed in terms of argumentative technique and what role the approach to authorship played in the argumentation process.
