The project is generally concerned with intergenerational human relationships and it focuses on two generations in particular - adolescents and seniors. These relationships are projected into our everyday lives and it is possible to investigate them through the mass media. The aim of the project is to find out by means of a quantitative content analysis in what way and to what extent the daily press deals with the two generations.

Results

Intergenerational human relationships in chosen daily press were presented infrequently, at least in MF Dnes 2000. More freqently is to show intergenerational differences, disagreements and conflicts, reciprocal misunderstanding and nonperception between adolescents and seniors.
Chosen media shows young people more positiv then seniors. Young people were presented here mainly as a famous, beautiful and successful. The positive pictures of seniors were rather presented in quality papers (MF Dnes 2000, MF Dnes 2008). Blesk showed seniors in connection with involutionary changes, their health program and with dying. Seniors – as an important part of society – were presented mainly in MF Dnes 2008.
We can talk about positive progress between MF Dnes 2000 and MF Dnes 2008. In MF Dnes 2008 were more articles about seniors and this daily press showed seniors more positiv then MF Dnes 2000.
