Description Finds of stove tiles from Brno, from at least six locations, make up a series of sherds and body fragments with reliefs of biblical heroes, against a backdrop of renaissance architecture. The origin of the tiles is sought, thanks to the dated prints on which they are based and the lettering employed, in the 1530s–1550s. Their abundant occurrence confirms the popularity of these products in Brno households. The rendering of architecture differs from the majority of European and Czech reliefs, which indicates local provenance after Nuremberg prints.
