| Description | The only Buryat Buddhist temple outside Sibirian Buryatia homeland is Gunzeichoinei Temple (from Tibetan kun la brtse mdzad thub dbang dam chos byung bai gnas). It is located in the former Russian capital Saint-Petersburg. The monastery was founded in 1915 by Agvan Dorzhiev, important Buryat teacher an Buddhist monk, Tibetan ambassador to Russian Empire.
