Description | Human development is a lifelong process. People change and develop throughout their lives. Life-span principles are described by modern theories that systematically formed from 1970s and are still developing. These theories are characterized by a multidisciplinary approach: they consider lifelong development in a broader, e. g. macrosocial context (i.e. changes in the social and historical context). At the same time they are linked to the currently very dynamically developing area of developmental research - developmental science. The theoretical implications are supported by findings from our own longitudinal research. It is the Brno Longitudinal Study on Life-Span Development, which is currently running more than 50 years. |
