Description | The article presents newly discovered documents which help throw light on the activity as a collector of the prominent lover and patron of modern art in Brno František Dvořáček. The documents include fragments of Dvořáček correspondence with Czech painters Emil Filla, František Muzika, Jan Bauch and Karel Černý and documents recording the purchase of paintings and drawings by French artist (Fernand Léger, André Masson) or other artists settled in Paris (Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Otto Freundlich) at Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler in his Galerie Simon in 1935. |
