Description The book, along with a catalog of architectural works, is published within a series of monographs of modern architecture in Brno. Next to the modern Czech architects and significant group of German-Jewish origin architects. the German-speaking builders were in Brno active (such as: Ferdinand Hrach, Vinzenz Baier, Emil Tranquillini, Heinrich Fanta, Wilhelm Dunkl, Eduard Göttlicher, Othmar Skrabal, Emil Leo and others). What these individuals shared was, on the one hand, their shared presence in the city which was open to new streams of contemporary architecture, and on the other hand, on particular, the shared atmosphere of the German Technical University where they were involved. The professors at this school did not actually have that similar backgrounds, and therefore what shared them together, they were the aspects consisting of the more or less changing artistic as well as a social culture mood of University institutions in the first three decades of the 20th century.
