Description The article focuses on issues of removing barriers from public spaces in relations to persons with visual impairments. The theoretical part deals with prerequisites of barrier removal in the Czech and international context. As barrier free environment it essential for mobility training and independent safe movement, we focused our research on evaluating three real tracks in the second largest city of the Czech Republic. The main interest has been to compare the real situation with legislative norms given by the relevant regulations. We evaluated the coherence or complexity of installed safety components. The study uses innovative research method of terrain mapping.
